Verified - you counted it, or you checked it yourself.
This is the number we use. It replaces every other number, and it stays when the data is updated.
Double-Checked - the satellite found the mapped tanks again.
The satellite AI (free Sentinel-2 images, 10m per pixel) looked on its own and found most of the mapped tanks again - but only the ones it can see, 25m across or bigger. That backs up those tanks, not the site total: the satellite usually reports other tanks as well. Two sources so far, and nobody has counted the site yet.

A good guide to what is on the ground, but this map is made by volunteers: it can be out of date, and it can miss tanks. The circles show the mapped tanks only - the real site may have more. Verify it before you quote it.
Satellite estimate - a rough number. Nobody has counted it.
A site we know by name, with no mapped tanks, where the satellite has produced an estimate. The satellite counts inside a default 3 km box around the map point, unless a boundary was drawn - so it can pick up tanks from the site next door. That is why the number shows with a "≈", unless the site's own name says it is not a tank site. Open Google Earth, count, save.
Name says not tanks - the satellite counted something, but the name says this is not a tank farm.
Wind turbines, shipping containers, silos and roundabouts all look like circles from space. So when the site's own name says wind farm, container terminal, solar park or something similar, we do not show the number on the map, in the list or in the spreadsheet. You see it only on the site card, with the word from the name that caused this. Open Google Earth before you trust it.
No count yet - we only know the name.
We know there is a site here (from a registry, or added by hand), but nobody has counted the tanks, and the satellite did not give a usable number either. Open Google Earth, count, save.
Satellite counts see only tanks 25m across or larger (free images, 10m per pixel), and they are AI estimates, not a count made on the ground. Your verified number always wins over any analysis.
Export a sample of sites the satellite has counted. Check them in Google Earth, type your number into Verified Qty, and import the same file back. The table above then shows your own measurement, and those sites turn green.
Count every tank you can see, every size - Verified Qty is the number the tool will use. The satellite column counts only tanks 25m across or larger, so where a site has many small tanks, expect your number to be higher. The Mapped 25m+ column shows how many of the mapped tanks are big enough for the satellite to see.

Import a filled sheetReads the five columns you can fill in: Verified Qty, Update Industry, Add Note, Rename Site, Delete.
Fill in only those five columns, then import the same file back. If you leave Verified Qty empty, that site does not change - an empty cell never removes a count you saved. The same goes for Rename Site: an empty cell keeps the name that is there. To go back to the mapped name, clear the Name box on the site itself.
The columns the tool fills in are protected, so a stray keystroke cannot change them. Your five columns type as normal. To sort or filter the sheet, Excel needs you to unprotect it first: Review > Unprotect Sheet. There is no password - it just unlocks. Sort the whole table, never only your own columns: sorting part of a sheet moves your numbers away from the site names, and importing that file puts your counts on the wrong sites.
